Since 1891, Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church has been a place where people are welcomed in the name of Jesus Christ.  Over the years the family-like atmosphere has given people a sincere fondness for their Savior and his people in this place. From west coast to east coast those who have passed through the halls of Bethel have expressed their love of this place.

That tradition continues today, as we seek to bring the hope of Christ to our West Humboldt Park neighborhood by providing a place of refuge.  In the past, our former school did this very well.  That school ministry has morphed for economic reasons in the past few years into ministries that are less costly.  Today we are serving more people in the name of Christ than we had for some time through our school. 

Please join us at Bethel in engaging this opportune time to bring Jesus to the nations.  In our neighborhood nearly every nation of Latin America is represented.  Also in our neighborhood we are blessed with a strong presence of African-Americans.  This mix of folk brings the nations to our doorstep.  Thanks be to God!  Join us today in partnering with us.
